Alzheimer's is a type of dementia that affects memory, thinking and behavior. Symptoms eventually grow severe enough to interfere with daily tasks. - Alzheimer's Association

The Alzheimer's Association's website says people with symptoms might find it difficult to recognize that they are having issues, and that family members usually notice the symptoms first.

If you or someone you know is experiencing memory loss (especially with newly-learned information), you should consult with your doctor.
