In wake of Louisiana's COVID-19 situation, the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival has just announced they will postpone this year's event for 2020.

Our media partners KATC reports that Mark Bernard, President of Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival Board of Directors has released the following statement -

In response to the threat of Covid-19, the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival Board of Directors has decided to heed recommendations from local, state and national officials and postpone the festival. Our first and foremost concern is for the health and safety of our festival goers and everyone involved with putting on the event so we feel it is in everyone’s best interest to put our 2020 festival on hold.

We want to thank all of our patrons, sponsors, vendors, carnival, musicians and volunteers for all the past support they have given us. We are discussing possible options to reschedule. There will be many challenges in doing so, we look forward to working with all parties involved in putting on our festival in the near future. In the coming days and weeks, we will be discussing our options and will communicate with you as we know more. We ask for your patience, respect, and support in whatever decision we make.

Any decisions will be posted on our website and Facebook page along with announcements via local media outlets. We encourage everyone to stay safe during this time.

Thank you for your understanding. God bless on behalf of the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival Association.

Sincerely,
Mark Bernard
President
