With all of the rain and high water, the Vermilion River is flowing backwards.  The reason?  The river is filling faster than the marshes that feed it, so the water flows to fill the marshes.  Once the balance is reached, the river will again flow to Vermilion Bay.

Until then, whatever is floating in the river will be floating "up" the river!  Take, for instance, this boat dock:

My friends Barb and Morrie were sitting on their deck, minding their own business, when someone's dock came a-floating by.  Not something you see every day!
