This thing is called a Black Dragonfish and unfortunately can be found in the Gulf Of Mexico. It can also be found in your worst of nightmares.

This thing seriously looks like it's straight out the movie "Alien". It's apparently a pretty fierce predator as well, surprise surprise. The deep sea Dragonfish lives in deep ocean waters at depths of up to 5,000 feet.

The scaleless Dragonfish uses bio-luminescence to attract its preys and mate. Photophores (for light signals) are placed at the end of a barbel attached to its chin and along its body.

So, it produces its own light to hunt you down in the dark. Awesome.
