Do you hear that weird buzzing sound? Don't worry, it's just billions of cicadas invading the U.S.

Entomologist say that for the first time in 17 years, billions of periodical cicadas are about to crawl out from under the ground to eat our souls and faces off.

OK, they won't eat our faces or souls but, they certainly don't think twice about crawling on you.

The billions strong swarm of cicadas even have an evil, menacing name. The oncoming horde is called "Brood X"

Michigan State University entomologist Gary Parsons tells cnet.com "When they are this abundant, they fly, land and crawl everywhere, including occasionally landing on humans."

However, the good news is that as for now, Louisiana isn't one of the states expected to be swarmed with billions of cranky cicadas.

Cnet.com reports the 15 states expected to be effected are "Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia, as well as in Washington, DC."

It's believed that cicadas travel in such huge, overwhelming numbers because by doing so, they "bugs ward off predators so enough can live on to mate."
