A bill that would extend the length of time you have to get your driver's license renewed to 6 years instead of 4 is closer to passing.

Of course it's getting closer, seeing that I JUST renewed my license...a friend of mine who lived in Phoenix, Arizona for a spell changed his license to there for awhile. He received his license when he was in his early 20's. He wouldn't have to renew his license again until he was 48 years old.

While I don't think a 25 year gap should be given for license renewal, every 4 years seems a bit excessive, imo.

That looks like it could change though! In a bid to shorten the lines at the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles, better known as the DMV, a bill is heading for final passage in the House. The bill was previously approved without objection to get to this final passage.

Some places in Louisiana have about an hour and a half wait time at the DMV due to staffing cuts because of budget concerns. [I spent exactly an hour and a half at the DMV just to get my license renewed in April.]

Do you agree with the extension?
