Here is the top 10 places to eat in Acadiana if you only had $5 to your name.

1. VALUE MENU - TAKE YOUR PICK

These days everyone has a value menu. So you go'head and take your pick! Everything from Arby's to McDonald's and even Wendy's. With your last $5 and starving stomach, you can get several items off of any value menu, and be satisfied. I mean...there's a reason it's called a value menu, right?

2. CHINA 1

Located in the Autumnwood Shopping Center next to Albertson's on Johnston St., China 1 has a lunch menu that's out of this world. You get a whole lot of food for not a whole lot of money. Lunches are just $4.75! So you've made the cut, and now you can enjoy an entire entree along with either a soup (wonton, egg drop, or hot and sour) or a soda. Speaking of those soups, if you get a large, it's enough for at least 2 meals. That's only gonna cost you between $2.50-$3.50 for a quart!

3. BEST STOP - BOUDIN

It's been said time and time again that The Best Stop in Scott has the best boudin in Acadiana. What better way to spend your last $5 than on some tasty eats from a local favorite! You can get a pound of delicious boudin for only $3.49, which gives you 2 links to the pound. Ca c'est bon!

4. TACO BELL

Hey gringo! Low on the denero? Make a run for the border and hit up Taco Bell! They have countless things on the menu cheap enough for you to get a few items under $5. Here's a tip, incase you didn't know, you can order "off the menu" and get a couple of chili cheese burritos for under $5. Yo quiero save money.

Their motto is " Fat Pat's - Never trust a skinny cook!" But you can trust your skinny wallet for plenty of bang for the buck!

6. ALBERTSON'S

Every grocery store is gonna have some cheap eats. From ramen to canned goods (soups, Chef Boyardi, Spaghetti-O's, etc.) and mac and cheese, among many others. However, we chose Albertson's because of the Cheap Chicken Mondays!!! You can get an 8 piece dark for only $3.99! And it's real good, y'all.

7. THE BULLDOG

So, it's Wednesday. You've got $5 left in your account. And you're RRRRRREAL hungry. You, my man, can get FIVE juicy burgers from The Bulldog over on General Mouton. Hey! That's right off campus. For all of you math majors out there, that's just one dollar per burger.

8. CICI'S PIZZA

Hi! Welcome to CiCi's! This, my friends, is cheap, delicious, and you'll still have money leftover from your last $5. Cause CiCi's pizza has a buffet happy hour! Monday through Friday from 2-4 you can get an all you can eat buffet for just $2.99. That's all you can eat, not all they have to eat! Teehee.

9. OFFICE HOURS

It's lunch time, crunch time! Office Hours has you some burgers and dogs from 10-2 Monday through Friday for only $3.99. Located on Pinhook next to Todd's Car Wash. If all they do is lunch, you know it's gonna be good!

10. VENDING MACHINE

Snack Attack!!! It'll at least hold you over til your momma can cook you some dinner. Vending machines have all you need. Sweets? Got'em! Salty? You know it! Just be sure not to tip or rock that son of a gun cause about 2 deaths per year happen from vending machines falling on folk. And that's 2 too many!
