Band Picks Up Hitchhiker Who Turns Out To Be John Waters

Indie rock band Here We Go Magic was traveling on tour in Ohio and saw that a hitchhiker was sticking out his thumb to be picked up. That hitchhiker turned out to be film director John Waters.

Waters is best known for directing cult films and is the director of such movies as the original Hairspray, Cry Baby, Pecker, Serial Mom and Cecil B. Demented. Bassist Jen Turner tweeted about the experience:

So, you never know who is hitchhiking on the side of the road. It might be a famous film director! It seems from the tweets that he is pulling a "Forrest Gump", but instead of running, he is hitching.
