B-52s from Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport and F-15s from the Louisiana Air National Guard flew over Louisiana cities today to thank the front-line heroes fighting against the coronavirus.

In a display of gratitude and national pride, the military jets took to the skies of New Orleans and Baton Rouge in honor of our nurses, doctors, first responders, and anyone else on the COVID-19 front lines.

Social Media posts are showing several different angles of the flyovers, but the two that caught my attention were the jets over Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, and then over St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans' French Quarter.

(Nay-sayers gonna nay-say: some are wondering if the fuel and other expenses of flying these aircraft could have been better spent. Having spent time in the aviation field in the US Military, I can tell you this: every pilot needs flight hours to retain his or her flight rating, and every aircraft has to maintain a certain level of flight readiness., There is no better way to get flight hours or show readiness getting out there and making it happen.)

Here are some more pics of pilots earning flight hours, and aircraft putting in hard work:
