April 24 Louisiana COVID-19 Update
The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Friday, April 24.
There are now 26,140 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. 6,977 tests have been completed by state labs and 135,079 tests have been reported by commercial labs. Numbers show that there are 1,697 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized with 286 of them on ventilators.
As of today 14,927 COVID-19 patients are presumed recovered.
The total amount of coronavirus cases in the Acadiana region is 1,423 with 104 deaths reported.
Lafayette Parish: 440 cases, 17 deaths
Iberia Parish: 231 cases, 13 deaths
St. Martin Parish: 218 cases, 14 deaths
St. Mary Parish: 171 cases, 18 deaths
St. Landry Parish: 157 cases, 34 deaths
Acadia Parish: 129 cases, 7 deaths
Evangeline Parish: 44 cases
Vermilion Parish: 33 cases, 1 death
There is more widespread representation throughout the state as all 64 parishes now have at least one confirmed case of COVID-19. The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 1,601. New Orleans continues to be the hardest-hit area of the state. The next update is due out tomorrow at noon.
