The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Wednesday, April 22.

There are now 25,258 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. 6,593 tests have been completed by state labs and 135,079 tests have been reported by commercial labs. Numbers show that there are 1,747 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized with 287 of them on ventilators.

The total amount of coronavirus cases in the Acadiana region is 1,350 with 95 deaths reported.

Lafayette Parish: 435 cases, 17 deaths
Iberia Parish: 217 cases, 11 deaths
St. Martin Parish: 202 cases, 13 deaths
St. Mary Parish: 162 cases, 17 deaths
St. Landry Parish: 140 cases, 29 deaths
Acadia Parish: 117 cases, 7 deaths
Evangeline Parish: 44 cases
Vermilion Parish: 33 cases, 1 death

There is more widespread representation throughout the state as all 64 parishes now have at least one confirmed case of COVID-19. The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 1,473. New Orleans continues to be the hardest-hit area of the state. The next update is due out tomorrow at noon.
