The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Monday, April 20.

There are now 24,523 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. 6,482 tests have been completed by state labs and 135,079 tests have been reported by commercial labs. Numbers show that there are 1,794 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized with 332 of them on ventilators.

The total amount of coronavirus cases in the Acadiana region is 1,292 with 78 deaths reported.

Lafayette Parish: 423 cases, 17 deaths
St. Martin Parish: 193 cases, 12 deaths
Iberia Parish: 194 cases, 9 deaths
St. Mary Parish: 156 cases, 12 deaths
St. Landry Parish: 136 cases, 20 deaths
Acadia Parish: 114 cases, 7 deaths
Evangeline Parish: 43 cases
Vermilion Parish: 33 cases, 1 death

There is more widespread representation throughout the state as all 64 parishes now have at least one confirmed case of COVID-19. The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 1,328. New Orleans continues to be the hardest-hit area of the state. The next update is due out tomorrow at noon.
