Animals ‘Sound’ Different In Japanese [Video]
You know how a cow goes, "Moo!" and a turkey goes, "Gobble, gobble"? Apparently that's not how they sound in Japanese.
I've never really given thought to how other non-English speaking countries interpreted animal sounds. I kind of thought they all sounded the same, so why would they "sound" different to other cultures.
As it turns out, animals sound very different to Japanese people.
Actually a cow is probably the one that sounds most similar. My favorite two are the pig, which sounds something like "Boogie, boogie" and the turkey...well, you'll have to see that one to really get it.
Some of the Japanese animal sounds might actually be more realistic than what we think they sound like. Some, in my opinion, are way off.
