Amazon Prime members will be paying more for their membership shortly. For the first time in four years, Amazon is increasing its Prime membership.

Beginning May 11, new subscribers will pay $119 a year for the shipping and entertainment program. That's up from $99 today.

This new annual fee will apply to current Prime members starting with renewals on June 16.

The last price increase for this service was back in 2014 when it cost customers $79 a year.

Prime allows Amazon shoppers to get free two-day shipping on a majority of their purchases. Additionally, they have access to a large library of movies, TV shows and music via streaming.

According to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, the service has more than 100 million members worldwide.
