After years and years of waiting for the much beloved prequel to "The Lord Of The Rings" to hit the big screen, "The Hobbit" is finally coming to theaters!! Peter Jackson, who is taking over for Guillermo Del Toro, who backed out of the project, is once again serving as director for the film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's masterpiece. The film will be in two parts, just like "The Lord Of The Rings" was three parts.

The first part will be called "An Unexpected Journey" and will be released in December 2012, and the second will be appropriately called "There And Back Again" and will be released in December 2013 (if the world still exists then). The film stars Martin Freeman, of The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy fame, as Bilbo Baggins, Ian McKellen as Gandalf The Grey, and Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield.

Head over to the official Hobbit Facebook page to check out production stills and videos!! I seriously cannot wait for this!!!
