Legendary British rockers Queen have found themselves a new frontman to tour with them. Yes, that person is Adam Lambert (pictured above). Lambert is a former contestant and finalist of American Idol. The position was originally held by the late, great Freddie Mercury. Then guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor started touring with former Bad Company vocalist Paul Rodgers as 'Queen + Paul Rodgers'.

Lambert had this to say in a recent interview with Rolling Stone:

The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some fucking great songs," he said. "It's to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would've been proud of.

Lambert said he has no intention on trying to "replace" Freddie Mercury.

That's impossible," he said. "The way I'm choosing to view it is that it's a great honor and one I'm in no way going to shirk.

Rumors have been circulating since May and Taylor joined him for his finalist performance on American Idol in 2009. In November, they performed together at the MTV EMAs in Belfast.

Last year, Roger Taylor recently had a online contest called 'Queen Extravaganza'. Contestants would submit audition videos for all instruments. One vocalist became a viral sensation overnight. That contestant is Marc Martel, who's audition video of 'Somebody To Love' had spread like wildfire on the internet. Here is his audition below:

What do you think of Queen's choice? Is Lambert worthy of this new gig of his? Do you think Martel got snubbed?
