The man Abbeville police say was involved in a deadly shooting last week is now in custody.

According to investigators, Lafayette police arrested Jordan Matthews on warrants for principal to second-degree murder. Matthews has since been transferred back to Vermilion Parish for booking.

That shooting happened around 9:30 a. m. on April 9 on East Lafayette Street near South Miles Street. Police say someone shot James Joseph, Jr. Joseph later died from his injuries.
