A bomb threat in Acadia Parish is forcing three Iota schools to close tomorrow out of an abundance of caution.

That's according to a statement made by Acadia Parish School Board Superintendent Scott Richard.

According to our news partners at KATC, a bomb threat was called into Iota High School Tuesday night, but after a full sweep by law enforcement, it was given the all-clear.

Iota Elementary, Iota Middle, and Iota High School will be closed to allow law enforcement to continues investigations into the social media threats to ensure the overall safety of the Iota community.

APSO says they will keep parents and students posted of further developments and hope to be back in session on Friday.

All other schools in Acadia Parish are open on Thursday.

Richard said students who were absent on Wednesday will not be penalized.
