Memorial Day is this Monday, May 27th and there will be several events throughout Acadiana honoring those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in service of our country.

CROWLEY MEMORIAL DAY EVENT
3:00 pm at the Historic Rice Theatre, 323 North Parkerson Avenue in Crowley. Hosted by the City of Crowley, Mayor and Board of Alderman. All Parish Post and Auxiliary Units are invited to participate in paying tribute during this Memorial Day Program by showcasing their colors in the entrance to the Rice Theatre Lobby.

CHURCH POINT MEMORIAL DAY
The VFW Post 9903 and American Legion Post 225 invites the public to the Church Point Depot this Memorial Day weekend (May 25-27). From sunrise to sunset, they will have a display to honor Church Point's 21 fallen heroes. Closing ceremony is 6:00 pm on May 27. They will stand watch from sunrise to sunset. There will be an "honor sentinel patrol" every hour on the hour all three days.
FOUNTAIN MEMORIAL CEMETERY MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE
Fountain Memorial Cemetery, 1010 Pandora Street, Lafayette will hold its annual Memorial day event at 9:00 am.
GREENLAWN MEMORIAL GARDENS CEMETERY
55th Annual Greenlawn Cemetery Memorial Day Event, 12:00pm at Walters Funeral Home, 2424 North University Avenue. Guest Speaker: James Bollich, WWII U.S. Army Prisoner of War survivor of the Bataan Death March, Bataan Peninsula in the Philippines.
LAFAYETTE MEMORIAL DAY PRAYER SERVICE
Hosted by the Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery in the Peace Chapel Mausoleum at 2111 W. Pinhook Rd. at 3:00 pm.
NEW IBERIA MEMORIAL DAY EVENT
Iberia Veteran's Association Memorial Day event in New Iberia at Bouligny Plaza at 6:00 pm.
WELSH MEMORIAL DAY CELEBRATION
Presented by the American Legion Post 283 Martin-Shipp Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9046 will be held at the Welsh Community Center at 2:00 pm. Reception follows at Welsh Museum hosted by Daughters of the American Revolution Live Oak Chapter.
