Wayback Classic Track – April 25th

This week's Wayback Classic Track is a song that was quite controversial when it was released back in 1978.

Today's song is 'Roxanne' by The Police. It is from their album 'Outlandos d'Amour' and though the album wasn't released on April 25th, The Police made their debut on BBC's 'Top of the Pops' with 'Roxanne'.

'Roxanne' was such a controversial song when it was released because of it's lyrical content. It was written from the point of view of a man who falls in love with a prostitute.
