Who are the top 5 head coaches in the history of the New Orleans Saints?

Yesterday, we unveiled the five kick returners in franchise history.

Today, we go to head coaches, in our final segment.

1)---SEAN PAYTON---Any doubt? Payton, who has been head coach of the Saints for the last 11 seasons (10, if you exclude 2012, the Bounty Gate year), from 2006-oresent, has a career record of 94-66. He guided the Saints to their first-ever NFC Championship Game appearance in 2006, and their first-ever Super Bowl appearance, and win, in 2009. Payton is the winningest coach in team history, has the best winning percentage (.588), and a Super Bowl crown. Not much of an argument here.

2)---JIM MORA---He was coach of the Saints for 11 seasons, 1986-1996, compiled a career record of 93-74, including four playoff appearances, the first in team history.

3)---JIM HASLETT---He was head coach of the Saints for six seasons, accumulating an overall record of 45-51. Haslett was coach of the Saints for their first-ever playoff win, following the 2000 season. In 6 seasons as coach of the franchise, his team's only had two losing records.

4)---BUM PHILLIPS---In 5 seasons as head coach, Bum's teams went a combined 27-42. If not for the Saints blowing the 1983 regular season finale against the Los Angeles Rams, Bum would have been the first coach to guide the Saints to the playoffs.

5)---DICK NOLAN---Yeah, he was head coach during the dismal 1980 campaign, one in which the Saints went 1-15. Still, Nolan, who was coach of the team from 1978-1980, ranks tied for 5th in wins (15), and 5th in winning percentage (.341). When in doubt, go with the numbers.
