‘The Walking Dead’ Season 2 Premiere Shatters Basic Cable Ratings Records

This past Sunday, I was so excited, I felt like I was about to watch the Saints in the Superbowl as I awaited the premier of season 2 of AMC's "The Walking Dead". I know, I'm a complete geek. However, it seems I'm not the only zombie geek...actually, far from it. The ratings are now in, and there are 7.3 MILLION other zombie geeks just like me! That's how many people tuned in for the season premier of "The Walking Dead" this past Sunday. Those numbers are pretty serious,  as they show "The Walking Dead" becoming the strongest telecast for any drama in basic cable history, EVER!

"The Walking Dead is one of those rare television programs that reaches both a core genre fan as well as broad audiences simply looking for a great, character-based story," AMC president Charlie Collier said Monday. "We're so proud of and grateful for the amazing team on both sides of the camera who work so hard and is so committed to making this a unique programming event."
