According to data that was compiled late last year from the FBI, the US Justice Department, and online real estate service Neighborhood Scout, Louisiana is a dangerous place to live. This makes me really sad because I love our beautiful state so much. Only in Louisiana has put together the list of most dangerous cities in the state, from the violent crime statistics compiled. And FYI, the average for you being involved in a violent crime in the entire state is 1 in every 194 people. Yikes.

  1. Alexandria - chance of being involved in a violent crime is 1 in every 56 people
  2. Opelousas - chance of being involved in a violent crime is 1 in every 58 people
  3. Marksville - chance of being involved in a violent crime is 1 in every 59 people
  4. Winnfield - chance of being involved in a violent crime is 1 in every 71 people
  5. Bastrop - chance of being involved in a violent crime is 1 in every 77 people
  6. Monroe - chance of being involved in a violent crime is 1 in every 81 people
  7. Hammond - chance of being involved in a violent crime is 1 in every 85 people
  8. Natchitoches - chance of being involved in a violent crime is 1 in every 97 people
  9. Many - chance of being involved in a violent crime is 1 in every 133 people

Anyone else shocked that New Orleans isn't on here? Be safe, fellow Louisianians!
