Well that was fast! The news from Scott Weiland that he was back with Velvet Revolver and planning to record and tour came as a shock to fans, but no one may have been more surprised than guitarist Slash, who offered a denial when quizzed about it by Minneapolis/St. Paul station 93X.

In a new interview, he not only reveals that he hopes to release a new Stone Temple Pilots album, he also admits he would like to rejoin Velvet Revolver at some point down the road. It’s official, hell has frozen over.

Four years after their acrimonious split, the members of Velvet Revolver reunited with lead singer Scott Weiland for a brief live set last night (Jan. 12) — and now a message on the band’s website is causing some to question whether Weiland could be back in the fold on a more permanent basis.

Do they have a new singer? Is it Corey Taylor? Are they just screwing us, and Scott Weiland never left? Who knows, but what we do is, according to drummer Matt Sorum, they have "9 killer demo tracks" finished. Great news, but still no clue as to who sang those "killer demo tracks"...
