Big budget remakes of 80s horror classics usually tend to aggravate me. For example, two really come to mind: Friday the 13th and A Nightmare On Elm Street. Those were horrible examples of remakes. When I first heard of director Sam Raimi's plan to remake The Evil Dead, I was appalled.

If you go into Ridley Scott's Prometheus expecting xenomorphs, facehuggers, and chestbursters...you will straight up be disappointed. It is, in fact, a prequel to his 1979 classic Alien, but in another way, a 'spin-off' of the Alien franchise. This review does contain some spoilers.

So, I've just sat through one of the coolest experiences at the movies...ever! Marvel's The Avengers opened in theaters in the US today with much anticipation and hype. I am relieved to say...it was well worth it! This is most definitely a movie you should see, whether you are a fan of comic books or not.
