You might remember a call sheet that surfaced from the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming a couple of weeks ago, seemingly revealing a handful of previously unannounced characters. But without official confirmation, those names (mostly) offered intriguing possibilities, particularly with regards to a certain character played by Fargo star Bokeem Woodbine. Warning: Potential spoilers ahead.

Our first look at Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s take on Marvel’s Ghost Rider was curiously lacking in either ghosts or riding, but the ABC drama is starting to make up for it. A new “found footage” teaser catches the rider speeding away from the scene, and already making a name for himself.

The fact that Stan Lee is guaranteed to appear in nearly every single Marvel movie is one of those small little charms of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that I hope never goes away. Sure, some people probably view it as an annoying break in the fourth wall, but it also reminds audiences that we are watching a superhero comic book movie. These movies don’t need to choose between being cartoonish and deadly serious; they can be both, often at the same time, and Stan Lee always helps drive that point home.

The latest photo from the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming is dark — literally. As in, Tom Holland is hanging out (lurking?) in an alleyway, doing his best Daredevil impression, righteously looking down on injustice from atop a structure piled with boxes and making all of us feel very small in comparison. It’s like, a metaphor or something. Also it’s just a cool photo with a nice shout-out to Holland’s stunt team.

Of the many bonus features included in each new Marvel Blu-ray / DVD release, the gag reels are always the most special of the bunch, especially when the whole MCU gang gets together. You won’t be able to purchase Captain America: Civil War for another couple of weeks, but thanks to Marvel, you can watch the hilarious outtakes featuring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr. and the rest of the Avengers crew right now.

One of the final scenes of the movie is Steve Rogers putting down his shield, which made a lot of us wonder if that could mean he's symbolically giving up on his superhero alter-ego.

It’s not uncommon for superheroes (even ones in separate comic book universes) to share similar origins and powers — Arrow and Hawkeye, Thanos and Darkseid, Sif and Wonder Woman, Avengers and Justice League, etc. Fans of Captain Marvel can tell you that the Marvel hero shares a few things in common with DC hero Green Lantern, and while the two characters aren’t really all that comparable, the origin story of the former will undergo a little tweaking for her highly-anticipated solo film.

I’m the guy who wrote the article “What Marvel Got Right About Spider-Man That His Solo Movies Got Wrong,” so it should go without saying (or at least saying again) how much I enjoyed Tom Holland’s new take on Spidey from Captain America: Civil War. The real test for the new Spider-Man, though, will be his first full-fledged solo film, Spider-Man: Homecoming, due next summer from Marvel and Sony. As with Daredevil himself, Jon Bertnthal’s Frank Castle didn’t properly adopt the mantle of The Punisher until late in Season 2, but might the character change his ways in time for the confirmed spinoff? Way back in 2012 (or at least it feels way back), Netflix and Disney struck a deal for all of Disney’s movies — including Marvel, Pixar and Lucasfilm — to stream exclusively on Netflix Instant. According to the terms of their agreement, the deal wouldn’t kick in until 2016, which just so happens to be the year in which we are currently living. As announced today, Netflix will officially begin streaming Disney films in September, but that doesn’t mean the studio’s entire library will magically appear in your Instant browser.

It’s safe to assume that Captain Marvel will probably make her big screen debut in another Marvel movie before her standalone adventure — but which one? And when? The superhero’s solo outing doesn’t hit theaters until 2019, and it seems unlikely that Marvel would introduce her this year or next, as it would still be a bit too soon for the studio’s other Captain to arrive on the scene. Great news: we can officially stop wondering, as the Russo brothers have apparently given us an answer.

Oh what a different 18 months makes. A year ago, last fall Spider-Man fans were facing an entire universe of Spidey movies they didn’t particularly want; a third Amazing Spider-Man about the continuing and not-particularly-exciting adventures of Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker, plus spinoff movies for Venom and the Sinister Six. Things got so bad for Spider-Man that when rumors began circulating that Sony was considering an Aunt May movie, Sony had to publicly dismiss those rumors as “silly” with “no validity whatsoever” because people thought that the company that made Amazing Spider-Man 2 might actually be dumb enough to make an Aunt May movie.

It didn’t take for the hype of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher to generate talk of his own Daredevil spinoff, though Marvel and Netflix were quick to keep expectations down, even as Season 2 clearly set the character up for his own adventure.
