Check out our 2017 list of available summer camps. With the size and variety of our camp catalog we are willing to bet there is something for everyone.
One woman, who goes by Aunt Boo, has just posted to her Facebook page to ask the question "When did it become OK for kids to cuss in front of their parents?" and it's everything, every one of us has probably said 100 times.
Summer is in full swing. This means we're all looking for cheap, fun ways to cure summertime boredom for the kids. Right on cue comes the Grand Theatre 14. They'll be hosting "Summer Kids' Flicks" all summer with some great movies the kids will love, and it only costs $4!
One Change.org group called "Concerned Parents" has started an online petition to hopefully persuade the Lafayette Parish School Board to institute increased recess time for students.
As parents, we want the world for our kids. Above all however is wanting our kids to be healthy. I just came across this article about childhood eye cancer, and the simple way to use your phone's camera to detect if your child possibly has it.

About 20 children in the foster care system attended a pizza party yesterday sponsored by Buck and Johnny's Pizzeria in Breaux Bridge. The kids were asked to use art and poetry to express what being adopted would mean to them. Lavontray, an 8th grader who's been in the system for 5 years now, put his feelings into song and I'm now a teary mess.
By law, registered sex offenders are prohibited from participating in handing out candy to kids on Halloween. I don't know about you, but I'd rather not count on anyone playing by the rules. I want to know definitively what areas to avoid with my kids.
Today, a friend and I were joking around making Cajun versions of classic fairy tales like "Jack And The Beanstalk", "Goldilocks And The Three Bears" and more. After I got home from work, I decided to get on the Google to see if anyone else had the same ideas we did. As I found out, there are indeed quite a few Cajun adaptations of classic children's fairy tales, and they look fantastic.
This is big news if you love good family fun. There is a new entertainment venue being built in Henderson called Cajun Fast Track and it'll be opening later this year.
