Suspect Sought By US Marshals For Louisiana Craigslist Scam

Initially two suspects were being sought by US Marshals in a Craigslist scam involving hundreds of Louisiana residence. One suspect has turned himself in, and one is still on the loose.

Two Romanian nationals used Craigslist and classified ad websites to defraud hundreds of Louisiana residence. The two gathered nearly $1 million.

Gheorghe Olar, 49, surrendered to authorities on October 29th.

His literal partner in crime, Dorin Racu, 31, is still on the loose. If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Racu, please contact the US Marshals in Lafayette at 337-251-6921. Callers can remain anonymous, and a cash reward is available for information leading to an arrest.

Racu is listed as 5'10 and 170 lbs.
