'Star Wars Rebels' Bridge Gap Between Episodes III & IV

For Star Wars Day, Disney had an announcement to make. Ever wonder what went on between Star Wars Episodes III & IV? Star Wars Rebels is here to bridge that gap for ya! The trailer and more detail is below!

This animated series will premiere with a 1 hour special on the Disney Channel with the series following on Disney XD in the fall. It will introduce plenty of new Star Wars character to fall in love with, as well as bring in some familiar faces/voices.

As of now it looks like Billy Dee Williams is set to voice a younger Lando Calrissian. It's rumored that Obi-Wan Kenobi will appear in the show as well. We'll also see plenty of Storm Troopers.

New characters will include cowboy-esque Jedi Kanan (voiced by Freddie Prinze Jr.), artistic explosives expert Sabine (Tiya Sircar), a skilled pilot named Hera (Vanessa Marshall), a muscular yet articulate alien named Zeb (veteran cartoon actor Steve Blum), and a new spastic droid named Chopper.

As far as what's to go on during the series, the IMDB synopsis says:

An animated TV series set between the events of Episode III and IV, Star Wars Rebels takes place in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape.
