SLEMCO has a warning for customers: Don't pay any money to someone pretending to be a company official.

The scam is simple. Someone will call the home of a SLEMCO customer demanding $500 for a deposit so they can install a "Smart meter".  They claim if you don't do it, your service will be cut off.

Anyone that calls you and asks for money in this way is not an official SLEMCO employee even if they give you a name and truck number.

CEO and General Manager Glenn Tamporello says,

“SLEMCO does not call consumers requesting payments. All of our bills and other communications concerning payments or amounts owed are sent through the US Postal Service.”

If you have any questions about your bill or your service you can call SLEMCO at at 337-896-5384.
