It seems the weather pattern across South Louisiana has been one of several days of nice weather with interspersed periods of torrential rain and flooding. Hopefully, the torrential rain part won't make a return appearance during your day on Friday.

Forecasters with the Storm Prediction Center do not believe that an approaching weather system will spawn tornadoes and severe weather for the Bayou State as it moves through the area on Friday. The forecast from the SPC does call for moderate to heavy showers and a few storms but we shouldn't be under watches or warnings.

By midday, on Friday a cold front should bisect Louisiana from the northeast corner of the state to the southwest. This system is moving at a pretty good pace and should clear the state by late in the day on Friday.

This system should provide a nice shower or two for much of the area as it passes. Yes, there could be a thunderstorm. But right now the thinking is that most of us will not see heavy weather. That means weekend gardeners shouldn't need the sprinklers or the hoses but they will want to be out in the yard enjoying the weekend.

The forecast for Saturday and Sunday is going to be a nice one. Skies will be mostly clear on Saturday with a high temperature in the low 80-degree range. Sunday will offer a few more clouds in the sky but overall it should be quite nice as well.
