Yesterday (Dec. 20), the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2017 was revealed. While many were excited to see Pearl Jam get the nod in their first year of eligibility, their induction will not come without some controversy. Former drummer Dave Abbruzzese was one of the names left off Pearl Jam's ballot, and he spoke out when the original nominations were announced earlier this year.

Now that it's been announced that Pearl Jam will indeed by inducted into the Rock Hall, Abbruzzese is speaking out again via Facebook, citing a friend's comments that questioned why the Rock Hall decided to snub the man who drummed on Pearl Jam's Ten tour and their Vs. and Vitalogy albums, before making some of his own remarks. "The qualifications required for me to have been inducted with my former band mates certainly have been met," Abbruzzese began, firing off, "I challenge anyone to justify why I am not worthy of a place in the history of Pearl Jam. The official reason given from the RRHOF makes it bulls--t."

The official wording from the Rock Hall states, "As the original ballot is created, the members of each eligible band are determined by largely who was present and active during the most influential recording years."

These words are inherently ambiguous, leaving Abbruzzese wondering why his accomplishments do not meet this criteria. He went on to say, "It make[s] my years of hard work appear to be worthless towards the success born of the formative years of Pearl Jam. This is simply not the case."

The drummer also listed his achievements with Pearl Jam, adding, "The milestones and the success obtained during my period in the band... The Grammy, [American Music Awards], MTV awards, over 20 plus million albums sold. MTV Unplugged performance. [Saturday Night Live] twice, etc. Over 275 shows."

"For anyone to take a stand for denying my right to be recognized, I deserve to hear how you are possibly justifying such an absolute travesty," Abbruzzese exclaimed. In closing, the drummer stated, "Statistics and the opinions of the Pearl jam fans voiced on social media for the last 20 plus years will attest to that. Someone need only to pull their head out of their ass and add my name. 'Nuff said? Thank you, everyone!!"

Current members Eddie Vedder, Mike McCready, Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament, Matt Cameron and former drummer Dave Krusen were all listed among Pearl Jam's inductees, leaving Abbruzzese and fellow former sticksmen Matt Chamberlain (1991) and Jack Irons (1994-1998) as those who will not receive the honor.
