If you're a true New Orleans Saints fan, you still love and appreciate Marcus Williams.

The New Orleans Saints rookie safety whiffed on a play that cost his team a shot at the NFC Championship game and ultimately ended the Saints season in a fashion that can only be described somewhere between heart-stopping and heartbreak.

As bad, mad, or sad as you felt when you picked your jaw up off of the floor to realize "that just happened," the man responsible for the blown play felt 20 times worse.

After gathering himself, Williams still faced the media after the game vowing to get over the play and never let it happen again.

You can't let it beat you down. I'm going to take it upon myself to do all I can to never let that happen again, and if it happens again, then I shouldn't be playing.

All things considered, this is a very mature move from a 21-year-old rookie and true Saints fans should be excited that he is part of a very promising future Saints squad full of young talent like Alvin Kamara, Marshon Lattimore and many others.

Let me be clear, Marcus Williams is a professional and he definitely should have made the play to send us to the NFC Championship, but his interception earlier in the game was also one of the key reasons we even had a shot.

It was his fifth (technically sixth) interception on the year that put the rookie in the company of some of the other premier safeties in the league—and I'll go out on a limb to say he will only get better in time. His teammates believe he always belongs on the field, and so should you.

Here are Marcus Williams' five interceptions (and one on Tom Brady that got called back for too many men on the field) from his rookie season with the 2017 New Orleans Saints.

Share this if you're a REAL Who Dat! Hold your head high, Marcus! We got you!
