LSU Nabs a New Years Six Bowl, Faces UCF

The LSU Tigers may not be playing in the College Football Playoffs but ranked 11th and finishing 9-3 they will be playing in a New Years Six Bowl. The Tigers will be matched up with the 8th ranked UCF Golden Knights in the Playstation Fiesta Bowl on New Year's Day with kickoff scheduled for noon in Pheonix Arizona.

The Golden Knights finished the season at a perfect 12-0, the best win that this team has had was against top 25 ranked Cincinnati, at the time the Bearcats were ranked 24th. Other than that the only team of some note that they beat twice was Memphis.

It's certainly an intriguing matchup for a big powerhouse SEC school and a school that wants to prove to the country that they have the ability to compete with those big programs.
