It looks like we won't be seeing any medical marijuana prescriptions being written in Louisiana. At least not this year. The Senate Committee killed the bill.

Even though Sen. Fred Mills from New Iberia, a pharmacist, said that the bill would have set up the tightest law in the United States regulating the prescription and dispensing of marijuana for medical purposes, the Senate Committee still put it to bed today.

The bill was deferred by a vote of 6-2.
