Louisiana Water Company (LAWCO) has issued a Boil Water Advisory some of its customers.

In a story we posted yesterday, LAWCO requested that its users conserve water due to low water pressure, brought on by customers attempting to preserve their pipes during the cold snap by allowing taps to drip.

According to the press release, LAWCO's boil advisory is for some customers in Iberia Parish.

All services south of Highway 90 (including the Port of Iberia, Lydia, Avery Island, Rynella, and Highway 14); Highway 86 north of Belle Place Olivier Road (into and including the entire village of Loureauville).

LAWCO stresses that the advisory does not mean that the water is contaminated; the advisory is a precautionary measure: due to low water pressure, the water quality is unknown.

Water tests will be completed once system pressures reach a more nominal level, and customers will be notified when the boil advisory is canceled.

For questions or comments, contact LAWCO at (337) 365-0002.
