I can't tell you how many times I've read or seen "The Great Gatsby" in one of the many English classes back in the day. (You know you had to read it too!) And now the house that inspired this classic is a goner."Land's End" was the name of the mansion located on Long Island's North Shore. It was built in 1902 by a newspaper publisher. F. Scott Fitzgerald lived across from "Land's End" during the 20's, where he watched the lavish parties that took place there.

Real estate developer, Bert Brodsky, bought the mansion and plans on building five homes in it's place. So the destruction began.
