Want to hear some ghost stories from right here in Lafayette? Wanna taste Rougaroux Rum? Ghosts Along The Bayou is going on at Vermilionville this Thursday!

Ghosts Along The Bayou is going on at Vermilionville on Halloween eve (Thursday, October 30th). You'll hear readings from a new book, 'Haunted Lafayette, Louisiana' from the author Cheré Coen. There will also be tastings of Rougaroux Rum! It all kicks off at 6:30pm.

Cheré Coen in an award-winning freelance journalist, food and travel writer, book columnist and blogger from New Orleans, Louisiana. She is also the author of “Exploring Cajun Country : A Historic Guide to Acadiana”, “Forest Hill, Louisiana : A Bloom Town History”, and her newest release, “Haunted Lafayette, Louisiana”. A longtime ghost seeker, Coen will share stories from her visits to Lafayette’s haunted sites and her travels to the countryside in search of ghostly spirits and spectators, from those lost in Civil War skirmishes and fever outbreaks to those souls that simply can’t say goodbye. The audience will sample Donner-Peltier’s Rougaroux Rum, crafted in a three-thousand liter copper German still using local cane sugar, as they listen to tales of lingering spirits who frequent bed-and-breakfasts and restaurants as well as back roads and cemeteries.

Here's the best part, it's FREE to attend. Rougaroux Rum, and all liquor tastings, of course, are limited to people over 21. Minors must be accompanied by a parent.
