The Les Etoiles de Louisiane Fundraiser will take place on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Wurst Biergarten in Downtown Lafayette from 1-4pm.
A French Immersion choir has been formed in Acadiana and will travel abroad to perform! Comprised of students in the Lafayette Parish School System’s French Immersion program, Les Étoiles de Louisiane is hoping to defray the cost of this unique opportunity. The group is hosting a fundraiser Sunday, April 8, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Wurst Biergarten, 537 Jefferson St. The funds raised will go towards travel costs of the choir and chaperones. There will be live music as well as a 50/50 split raffle.
This ambitious project of Chantons Ensemble! not only encompasses a cultural exchange between elementary students but is also timed in conjunction with Podium 2018, a biennial choral festival. There will also be artists-in-residence, school and community concerts for the francophone community, and the creation of new arrangements of Louisiana and Newfoundland pieces in French.
There will be no cover charge but a $5 donation is suggested.
