El Pollo Loco, which opened on Johnston Street last month, presented a $10,000 check to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana on Thursday. The donation was made possible by the restaurant donating 100% of the profits from their Grand Opening celebration, which took place March 24th.

Franchise owner and Lafayette native, Jason Trotter, was intent on partnering with a local non-profit organization to give back to the Lafayette community, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana was his first choice. “I have two young sons, so I really wanted to donate to an organization that reaches out to the children in Acadiana and helps them learn, grow, and create a future for themselves,” Trotter explained. "I think it’s so important to give back to your community and I love everything the Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana represents. I look forward to working with them in the future.”

Randi Landry, Director of Resource Development for the organization, said, “The Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana is so incredibly grateful for El Pollo Loco’s contribution. Our organization is a tremendous asset to the Acadiana area, but we cannot serve the nearly 4,000 local youth that we serve without partnerships with local businesses and the community at large. This gift from El Pollo Loco will certainly go a long way to ensuring that our club members have the resources they need to advance academically and personally and to obtain the greatest future possible.”

El Pollo Loco’s Grand Opening celebration occurred Saturday, March 24th, from 10:30 A.M. to 2 P.M. The event offered guests free face-painting, free balloon art, coupons, giveaways, and much more.
