Since Eastbound & Down ended last November, fans of the show have been itching for more of the same brand of humor. Looks like we're gonna get it, as HBO has picked up a show from Danny McBride and his writing partner Jody Hill called Vice Principals.

There isn't much detail on the show except that McBride will star as a vice principal at a high school. HBO has bought 18 episodes of the show. With the very short seasons of Eastbound & Down they may break those 18 episodes into 2 or 3 seasons.

HBO Programming President Michael Lombardo says this:

“Danny McBride and Jody Hill have created a smart, rowdy and unpredictable style of comedy that we can’t get enough of. The idea of them setting their minds on high school was irresistible.”

I know I'm happy to see the team back together! Eastbound & Down's end was a choice that was made creatively, not HBO calling an end to it.

There's no release date set yet, but I'm most definitely excited to see what more they have to bring to the table.
