Hanson Robotics builds these robots in hopes that they will one day be able to help humans.

This particular robot, Sophia, has cameras in her eyes, and algorithms that allow her to see faces. This makes her able to make eye contact with you. She also understands speech, and remembers conversations, which allows her to become smarter.

She has plans to go to school, and even have a family of her own. Oh, also, she says she'll DESTROY HUMANS!
