Backups are expected in parts of Vermilion Parish and Lafayette Parish this morning after a big rig leaked some of the oil it was carrying. Crews are working to clean several miles of roadway where the oil spilled. According to Louisiana State Police, the 18-wheeler was leaving the Abbeville area. The truck was traveling north and every time the truck stopped at intersections large amounts of oil spilled.

Some of the areas affected are Hwy 92 at US 167, Hwy 699 at US 167, Hwy 343 north toward Duson, and the 2 s-curves coming out of Abbeville. None of the roads are closed at this time, but you're asked to avoid the areas if possible.
